Afternoon Creator & Product Video: Light It Right, October 29, 2026

good light is cheaper than a good excuse.

Fix the light before blaming the camera. Lighting can shape how sharp, polished, and inviting a creator video feels, while a poorly matched light can leave a good camera doing its best impression of a dim hallway. The good news: a useful upgrade does not have to mean building a full studio or selling a kidney for a COB fixture.

Today’s lineup covers two very different jobs. The Zecti 135 LED is a small, rechargeable light designed to travel with a phone, laptop, or camera, while the Zhiyun MOLUS B300 is a powerful AC-powered studio fixture built for more controlled production. One adds handy illumination close to the camera; the other brings a lot more output and room to shape it. Both can help, provided the gear matches the shoot.

The Zecti 135 LED Selfie Camera Phone Light is listed at $39.99, 11% off its $44.99 list price. Amazon’s listing shows Amazon’s Choice, 4.4 stars from 231 ratings, and 500+ bought in the past month. Those are useful signals of shopper interest, not a guarantee that every creator will love its fit or output.

The appeal is flexibility without much fuss. Its 135 LEDs support adjustable color temperature from 2500K to 9900K, with RGB color, a stated CRI 96+, and 21 scene modes. Brightness is adjustable, and the built-in 4000mAh rechargeable battery gives it a portable edge for shoots away from a convenient outlet. The maximum output is 12W, and the included clip and metal hotshoe support attachment to compatible phones, laptops, and cameras.

That mix makes it a sensible tool for creator video, video calls, TikTok clips, livestreams, and close-up fill or accent lighting. The color-temperature range can help match the look of the room, while the RGB modes add creative options when a splash of color is actually useful. The display and onboard controls also make it easier to check settings without turning every adjustment into a guessing game.

Now for the caveat, before the tiny light gets promoted to studio director: it is a fill or accent light, not a studio key light. Its clip-based mounting is convenient, but it limits placement compared with a separate stand and modifier. The RGB scenes are fun, though strong fundamentals (pleasant brightness, a useful position, and color that suits the scene) matter more than a parade of effects. Consider it a compact helper, not a one-light studio in a pocket.

Zhiyun MOLUS B300: More power, more room to shape it

For a much larger jump in output, the Zhiyun MOLUS B300 Bi-Color LED Monolight was reported on sale for $249 at B&H Photo, a stated $180 discount. The deal was reported by Newsshooter on October 28, and the price was checked on October 29. Check the retailer’s current listing before purchase; deals can move faster than a creator’s battery percentage.

The B300 is a 300W COB fixture with a bi-color range of 2700K to 6500K. Newsshooter lists an output of 63,200 lux at 3.3 feet with the reflector, plus CRI 95 and TLCI 97. Those are production-friendly specifications for creators looking for substantial output and consistent color in a more controlled setup.

It offers onboard and app control, active cooling, and a Bowens S accessory mount, giving the light compatibility with a broad range of common modifiers. The included reflector and power cable help get the basic setup moving. In practical terms, this is a fixture built for shaping and directing light in a studio or a planned production environment, rather than clipping on beside a webcam and hoping for the best.

The important limitation is power: the B300 is AC-powered. It is not a battery-run option for cordless location shoots, so access to power becomes part of the setup. And at this price, it is a step-up studio fixture, not the obvious starter light for casual phone videos. It can bring serious output and flexibility, but the creator needs a suitable space and a reason to use that capability. Bigger gear is delightful right up until it becomes another object to store.

Which one makes sense?

Choose the Zecti when portability, quick setup, rechargeable power, and flexible phone or laptop mounting matter most. It is the more approachable choice for individual creators adding a little control to close-up video, calls, and casual content. Just keep the expectations grounded: it can lift a face or add a touch of color, but its compact size and clip placement limit how much it can shape a scene.

Choose the Zhiyun B300 when output, color accuracy, modifier compatibility, and a more deliberate studio setup are higher priorities. Its Bowens mount opens up more shaping options, and the output rating puts it in a different class from a small clip-on light. In exchange, the setup is less portable, requires AC power, and asks for more space and production intent.

The short version: Zecti for convenience; B300 for controlled studio lighting. Neither light replaces thoughtful placement, and neither is the right pick for every shoot. Match the tool to the job, and the camera can spend less time fighting the room and more time capturing a polished image.
